Maine Democrats’ New Nominee Posts $2 Million in First 2 Days as Collins Holds $11 Million

Maine Democratic Senate nominee Troy Jackson raised $2 million in the two days after winning the nomination, his campaign said on July 27, as he enters a general election against Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), whose most recent federal filing shows about $11 million in the bank. More than 30,000 new donors have contributed since the nomination, and more than 58,000 unique donors have now given to the Senate campaign, according to the campaign. The two numbers come from different places and cover different periods. Collins’s total is drawn from her campaign committee’s quarterly report to the Federal Election Commission (FEC). Jackson’s is a figure released by his own campaign that has not yet appeared in a federal filing due to him becoming the nominee after the most recent FEC filing deadline. ...
